Today I’m testing students, it’s going to be a long day! But it has to be done.
I was at the stadium Wednesday evening.Palermo won, but not by enough goals to reach the playoffs…so no Serie A again for next season.
Next week is one of the busiest working weeks of the year for me,as many courses are finishing… after that things get a lot calmer.
Finland, what the fuck?
I had mentioned that I want to attend the World Figure Skating Championship in Tampere next year… the tickets are now on sale and they’re TWICE the price of tickets of Prague 2026. It’s insane. It’s been a while since I visited Finland but I don’t remember it being that expensive (not to mention that Prague isn’t that cheap anymore either). Besides, they only sell day tickets, not single event tickets. I would wonder if Finland has become Switzerland but Helsinki grand prix tickets are reasonable. It’s a bit ridiculous, really. Not to mention that Tampere is much more tedious to get to (seems like Ryanair doesn’t fly there anymore) than Prague. I hope there’ll be a lot of home crowd because otherwise they’ll struggle to sell tickets.
Other news! [Aston Villa fans stopped a delivery guy and stole the food he was trying to deliver](https://www.reddit.com/r/Britain/comments/1tixawg/aston_villa_fans_stopped_a_delivery_driver_and/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) before the Europa League final in Istanbul. People who know the guys who did this, please give them a big slap on the neck for me. This is so embarrassing.
And other, more trivial news… Apparently there was a court case for the annulment of the last elections within CHP, and the annulment went through? Okay if you are like, wtf, why how what what the…. We are all the same. So, CHP got rid of their by then very unpopular president in 2023 and elected a new one. And now, the court decision annulled this election and CHP went back to the 2023 autosave when the unpopular president was still president. It basically means that even if you win elections fair and square, Erdogan will put your elected mayors in jail, put their lawyers and associates in jail, and even interfere with the main opposition party and get rid of its president.
Now, think about that for a second. Yeah.
Yesterday I had my B2 Greek exam after self teaching Greek for about a year. Most of the other candidatas were people who had been living in Greece for 20+ years and my dialogue partner was a native Greek! Apparently they need it for residence/work related stuff and also if they want to go a foreign private school located in Greece.
My first topic was AI and its influence on the current job market btw. Tough one….
