I live in Birmingham and I have just recently discovered that I can pay the driver in cash if I select this option before booking. I have googled around and haven't found experiences from the rider's side, but on the Uber drivers' Facebook pages, it appears this is something that they don't like that much.

So, have you ever paid Uber taxi in cash and what was your experience?

    I thought Uber always took money though the bank account right away not in cash

  2. They take cash, but you get any change back in digital Uber credit; not cash. Bear that in mind.

  3. I have done this once, it was by chance as I was struggling to add my card to the app as it has recently changed, and I needed a taxi. I seen the option to pay in cash so I ordered it this way and the driver didn’t seem to mind, the fare was under £10, but I gave him the tenner and told him to keep the change, like I do when the change is a small amount.

  4. You ever consider that that wad of twenties your grandson is giving you every weekend might not be entirely kosher?

  5. i’ve never used cash for uber but like, isn’t it kinda sketchy? makes me anxious just thinking about it.
