I heard Germany got their first Minister-President with Turkish ancestry. I thought there’d be one before. He’s probably been disowned by his parents’ country for his past actions regarding some controversial historical issues in Turkey. Apparently, he’s not seen well by the local German Turks either. Islamists don’t like his lifestyle or his politics. Nationalists dislike him for obvious reasons. Leftists don’t like him for not being a leftist and supporting Israel too much for their tastes.
I trained yesterday. Yesterday was Muay Thai. Some asshole bloodied my lip in sparring. Not supposed to hurt your training partners like that.
There’s this woman at my gym. I don’t like her. Yesterday she was trying to show me how to throw a certain kind of punch. The wrong way. I’ve trained and competed for years.
I like the gym, though. It’s a good place, and I got some good rounds in with two older guys. One only started a month ago, and he was a great training partner.
I have a couple of days off now, tonight I will watch a football game with my sister and drink a beer, its her birthday next week.

I am still pissed at DB. Yesterday we missed our concert (which I was looking forward to and was not cheap), and we don’t even know if we can get the train ticket fee back. It’s like nothing is working. We have managed to reduce our driving quite a lot in the past years and I really don’t want to change that but they’re not making it easy.
I bought a really beautiful blazer, a 70s vintage, which has the widest lapels ever. A usual rule of thumb is to have the width of your tie to match the width of the lapels, but I don’t have any ties this wide. And honestly, with a really wide 70s tie, I think the whole thing starts to feel a bit costume-y. Might as well also get flared trousers, grow a moustache, start smoking cigarettes and partake in casual chauvinism every once in a while.
Still, I love the blazer. Finnish made too. It’s a shame there’s basically no more menswear manufactured here, there used to be so many factories and the clothes are really quality.
How often do you have alcohol? It’s always amazing to me that in the states they have an almost puritanical view yet other places … more realistic?
