Okay, I know it's silly concern in the grand scheme of life ๐Ÿ˜‚.

But I always had really nice hairy legs and arms, with a nice even growth pattern, with hair all the way down the backs of my hands, and it was just something that I happened to particularly like about myself… Lol. I could never grow much of a beard when I was younger, and I have ZERO chest hair, so it was like I NEEDED to have that hair ๐Ÿ™ƒ.

Over the last 2-3 years, I'm really noticing that it's decreasing. Definitely becoming lighter and finer on my arms, and becoming patchy on my legs. I'm 36 now, for reference.

My scalp hair, is thriving! Actually I've been on kind of a growth journey for the last year and a half or so, and in the process I learned how to actually take care of my hair properly and discovered I have a pretty cool intrinsic wave pattern. And I can finally grow a beard, FINALLY!!

I remember as a younger boy/man, shorts were a lot shorter, and I always noticed hat a lot of older guys had totally smooth legs. Specifically my dad, who is a ball of meat and fur on top, with spindly white chicken legs ๐Ÿ˜†.

Just wondered if anyone else noticed this happening or knows what causes it

  2. Get your testosterone checked brother. This can be a visible warning sign before problems emerge

  3. Only around the ankles. My boots wear it off in the winter. Same thing used to happen to my dad.

  4. I’ve got about the same amount, but it’s definitely less thick. It used to be like a carpet and is now like fishnet lol.

  5. On my legs mate yes, patchy as well. Think it might alopecia as my T levels are fine

  6. Man I wishโ€ฆ..I have so much freaking hair everywhere I wish it would fall out

  7. > what causes it

Can be from poor circulation. Your arms and legs would seem smoother and shinier too.

Thatโ€™s all I can say. Not a doctor and not a place for medical advice really.

  8. Yes! My shins have huge bald spots. Its funny because my dad basically has no hair on his legs and I always thought that was odd because my legs were basically two steps away from Chewbacca

I joke with my wife that I’m happy the balding process started on my legs rather than my head.

  9. Im total opposite, loosing head hair but getting hairier all over my body.

  10. I had a “gay phase” during Covid and I “Nair’d” my legs, and my leg hair has grown back asymmetrically. One of my legs has a patch where leg hair now suddenly refuses to grow back.

  11. No, but hair that once proudly covered my scalp has now taken up playing hide and seek in my nose and ears.

  12. Yeah, but mostly where my clothes rub all the time. It seems to end up on my back and shoulders.

  13. I’ve lost most of the hair on my legs, but everyplace else is the same as always

  14. Yeah. Never did have hairy legs and now they look like old man legs. Kinda hate it.

  15. I lost the hair on my lower legs around 25-30. Apparently its some sort of condition and is often related to low testosterone levels (which was true for me).

I got on TRT but the hair never grew back. I used to be self conscious about it but now I actually don’t care at all. Some women do like a hair chest, some don’t…but there aren’t really women talking about how hot hairy legs are, it’s not a big deal.

  16. It’s an old joke that as you age you stop having hair where you’re supposed to and start growing hair where you’re not supposed to. Some of it can be naturally declining testosterone levels, which often starts in your mid-30s. I’m in my 70s and my arms and legs are definitely not as hairy as they once were. Shoulders and ears though? I don’t want to talk about that… Let’s just say, when I was in my 30s I never would have thought that trimming my ear and nose hairs would be a part of my morning shaving ritual.

  17. I’ve lost my hair leg mostly years back before turning 30, and IDK I think it might be due to poor circulation or I have a condition I’m not 100% sure about, but it would explain why I have hair thinning in certain areas even as a kid.

  18. The more I wear pants, the more my leg hair seems to rub off. Since I was a teen.

My arm hair was always thick and dark though until the past couple years.

My dad has the same issue and attributes it to our Norwegian ancestry. I still have a full head of hair though, while he had a bald spot at 27yo.

  19. I noticed maybe in my forties that I have *seasonal* lateral lower leg alopecia. That is, the hair on my outer aspects of my calves goes away in winter and returns in summer. Dogs get this, too.

Everything else below the brow is the same.

  20. Nope, the opposite actually. I have never been a hairy guy, not that I want to be. My arms have as little hair on them as a typical woman, and my thighs are the same way. My shins are fairly hairy. But I didn’t grow any chest hair at all until my late 30s, and its slowly increased since then. And unfortunately, I’m now growing some hair on my back beneath my shoulderblades on each side. My wife calls them my wings.

  21. It’s thinning a lil bit and cropping up on my back all straight and gross like.

  22. I wish. Ive been pretty hairless my entire life and all the sudden, after 40, I’m turning into mid-life wolf. NEVER had back or chest hair and all the sudden its like someone slathered me with rogaine….

  23. Ive lost 90% of my arm and leg hair and I just noticed my armpits are almost bald. Iโ€™m 73 and have peripheral artery disease from smoking. The hair follicles die when they donโ€™t get enough blood,so Iโ€™d say you have cardiovascular disease and you need to bring this up with a dr.I didnโ€™t notice mine until my 50s
