  1. I stayed up until midnight my time just to have the first thing that everyone sees when they open up this thread be my hatred of turkey (the bird/meat; my opinion of Turkey, the country remains reserved.) Disgusting, flavorless meat, not even fit to serve as a vehicle for gravy. I’ll take a good ham for Thanksgiving instead.

And while I’m on the topic of Thanksgiving, I look forward to seeing my mom continue the feud she’s been having with her sisters since approximately 1970 at lunch today.

  2. Command and Conquer Generals is a very fitting game for 2003 with the terrorism themes. I started playing the game recently starting with the China campaign; I have to say the Overlord tank-propaganda tower heal blobs have a insane cost efficiency.

  3. I usually write a short story of scandalous nature for a writing fest this time of the year (the name of which rhymes with Thanks(giving) but rather than Thanks, it’s a word for happy solo adventures in which one might engage while reading said content) so that people have something to read under the table while their MAGA uncle is visiting. Unfortunately, I am busy approximately up to my eyeballs and I forgot. I need to catch up for Christmas.

These days I feel like I am wallowing in work-wank (whoops gave you a clue there). But it is true. It’s like every week I say the next week will be better. And the next week isn’t better. If it is a bit better, the week after is three times worse.

Anyhow, the next week will be better. I’m sure.

  4. There’s been snow on the ground for two weeks already and the lakes are still not frozen over. Some smaller bays are, but the main body of the lakes aren’t. Finnish has a word for the open middle section(s) of a lake and it’s one of the words I most often wish had an equivalent in English. I seem to find myself in situations relatively often when I’d like to use a word like that in English, but oh well.

Some time ago I found a for cheap tie by Courrèges, an old vintage one, and even though Courrèges might be more well known for the miniskirt than ties I bought it because I liked the print.

I’ve tried it on a handful of times, and oh my god it ties the best knot so effortlessly. Like every time it’s perfect and you don’t have to adjust or fiddle with it at all. I don’t know if it’s the quality or type of silk or the construction or something, but this tie’s ability to tie is actually unmatched.
