1. Moose crashes (as in a car, truck or other vehicle crashing into one) have plummeted in areas that have gone through a campaign: areas where moose tend to cross roads, have had underpasses made, and motion detectors activate 1) speakers with a human voice talking*, and 2) blinking warning lights by the side of the road, to alert motorists.

   Roads have thousands of kilometers of “moose fence” in risky areas, but it’s impossible to make them foolproof, as crossroads and other structures require openings.

   I pass through one of these areas regularly, and have seen the lights blink at least on 25 occasions, wondering if it is doing its job – great to hear that it indeed is.

   *The recording is that of an interview where an old lady reminisces over past times. Turns out that moose and deer turn away as the voice is activated, kind of funneling them towards the underpass instead of the open area.

   Random moose fact: unless my memory fails me, the people who adopted the word moose to English from a native American tribe didn’t quite know how plurals work in that language, and got the impression the plural is the same as singular.

3. Autumn has definitely arrived now here in Sicily.

   We have a beer festival this weekend.Nothing big like Oktoberfest in Munich but it is at least something different!

   Have you ever attended a beer festival? If not,is it something you would like to try?

4. I was talking about the Korean food takeover in the supermarket. [This is what I’m talking about](https://i.imgur.com/m1Xxvzu.jpg). Maybe the owner of this supermarket is really into Korean food. I need to check more.

   I totally botched my prompt yesterday. I did sit down and draw something, but I was really brainfogged and I hate what I made. So I took my pen and paper with me to work. I can finish it during breaks.

   This year’s Nobel prize is in quantum physics again. These will probably increase in density. All the investments in quantum computing and such… I wonder if I will see a major leap in my lifetime, seems a bit unlikely, but you never know.

5. My niece lost one of her baby teeth so I gave her 2€, I said I was overpaid by the tooth fairy as a child so this was to balance the books. I then started thinking about the whole tooth fairy thing, so when I got home I looked at the Wikipedia page.

   On Wikipedia it said Forbes had estimated in 2010 that Tooth Fairy’s net worth was 3.9 billion USD. I then tried to find out their reasoning for this, but it seems like the page has been taken down and I’m not going to wayback machine this shit. Anyway, I did find a Forbes article from 2015 saying the average payout for a tooth was 3.19 USD then, which with today’s exchange rates is 2.75€ meaning I’m apparently underpaying my niece. And that 3.19 USD is 2015 rates, inflation is up like a million percent since then. I thought 2€ was quite a lot, but apparently I’m the evil-billionaire-industrialist of uncles, not paying my niece the fair market worth for losing a teeth.

   I must make sure my two nieces don’t unionise and start demanding more pay.

6. Long story short: Got into an argument with another redditor on a different sub and people started calling him a “dick” due to his aggressive tone. He then spent hours (assuming the time the comments were posted) to find a link between myself and the other people calling him a dick.

   Turns out one of the users calling him a dick, commented on one of my posts 2 years ago on another ASK subreddit.

   That’s it! Everyone calling him a dick is an alt account of mine. So he had to take screenshots and post them as proof that we are the same person.

   Part of me quite impressed by their drive, but the other terrifies me. That’s straight up serial killer behavior to me…
