  1. I read that Jane Goodall passed away. I grew up following her adventures, and until the last minute she was still busy giving lectures and talks everywhere on the planet. Humanity was better off for having her. May she rest in peace.

I have outside thermometers on either side of the house. One shows 5, and the other one -5. No idea what temperature it actually is, but it’s pretty fucking cold.

A couple of weeks ago I was in an evening stroll with the spouse, and we saw that a passing potato truck had scattered lots of potatoes when taking a curve (both sides of the road are meadow, so most landed on soft grass). We decided to collect some for funsies, and between stuffing our pockets and using a jacket as a makeshift sack, we gathered almost 4 kilos. Yesterday while we were out on a walk he said, let’s take a walk along the potato road. And this time there weren’t potatoes  but tons of onions on the meadow. So again, we stuffed our pockets and came home with 4,5 kilos of onions. I put my jacket on the balcony to air, but it still smells a bit.

But hey, time for Zwiebelkuchen. Yum. No need to waste food.

I finished the first day of Inktober, too. But I need to start drawing faster. [The prompt was moustache](https://www.deviantart.com/tereyaglikedi/art/Inktober-2025-Day-1-Moustache-1247803864)

  2. Few days ago I asked what colour shirt I should wear with a blue suit. I came to a conclusion and solved the problem by buying a new suit.

There is this super weird vintage clothing store downtown that is owned by a quite eccentric lady. She has so much stock there, the whole store is literally bursting with clothes, and she seemingly knows everything she has by heart. So I walked there, said what I was looking for, she took a quick look at me and fetched a suit from somewhere that I kid you not fits me better than any suit I’ve ever owned. I’m tall and skinny, so it’s difficult to find clothes for my frame that fit good. This is really rare. Although I still need to take it to a tailor to get the suit sleeves lengthened by a couple of cm.

The suit is an Italian vintage wool suit from the 1960s, gray-blue with really subtle blue chack striping. And it was unused too, which is pretty nice for a vintage suit. I’m really happy with it.

I still gotta figure out the shirt situation though… So I guess my problem isn’t exactly solved. I have a blue-and-white striped shirt that looks really good with it, but it has quite a casual texture and form so I don’t think that’s it.
