So I’ve been considering getting a trim as my sideburns and the hair near near my neck is flaring out but I want to keep the overall shape of my hair so that my top and my sides connect seamlessly but I don’t think trimming only the sideburns is possible and they may have to fae or cut some of the sides, what are the clipper guards that you normally use?

  1. Head shave or a quick buzzcut with the 0.5″ edge guard depending on the specific barbershop I’m at and how much time I have.

  2. Without the look of what you hair is it’s hard to tell. I’ve been getting high skin fades for so long and decided to switch it up and asked to go with a two cause I’m trying the same idea as you. I liked it There’s plenty of graphics if you look up clipper guard numbers to give you an idea.

And if you have a halfway decent barber describe what you going for and they should be able to figure it out. If they give you a choice between two numbers go for the higher one cause you always go down but will have to wait to grow it out if it’s too short.

  3. I go for a 1 and get it all buzzed right off. Looks a bit drastic for the first couple of days, but I find it is the best way of making it neat when it grows out a bit, and gets all the scraggly bits around the neck. More like a 2 or 3 around the beard and sideburns.

  4. I go with #1… high and tight.

Basically buzzed on the sides, back and neck… and I ask for him to leave just a bit on top and in the front.

  5. I always got a 2 on the sides when I was clean cut. Fade it up. Or a 2 all over buzz cut when I was doing it myself in college.
