Waffle House
Greasy and healthy as you said or filthy as you said? All fast food in America is horrible for you. Concerning dirt, it depends on where the restaurant is and if the health inspector even cares. None of them are unsanitary by design.
Places people don’t visit don’t become chains.
But the answer is Waffle House.
Five Guys….the minute you step in there you can just smell the pure lard that’s used for cooking, it’s no help that they have bad kitchen upkeep
Hardee’s, and it isn’t even close
Burger King is usually filthy and outdated inside. Taco Bell (ours is a combo KFC too) is also pretty disgusting with flys everywhere. If you’re lucky the nachos come with pubes on the side.
The single grossest fast food restaurant I’ve ever been in was a Pizza Hut. The chain that’s the worst on average across all locations I’ve been to is probably White Castle.
Waffle House
I don’t get the hate for Waffle House. It’s not so gross that it keeps people away.
My opinion is Long John Silvers. Just going in there my face gets greasy.
Long John Silvers. Ain’t no way.
Golden Corral, Pizza Hut, and KFC
I’ve only ever been to the one, but that Del Taco was so bad I’ve never been to another.
Jack In The Box is consistently bad, but had nothing on the Del Taco.
I’ve never been in a Long John Silvers (fried seafood) that was clean. Always gross.
Hardees where we live are generally very clean but the food is still, well, Hardees.
McDonald’s will vary here – country McDonalds – generally pretty clean with a well kept play area. City McDonalds – would not visit on a dare – gross food, gross people, bathroom looks like a prison toilet and smells worse.
Steak N Shake is pretty terrible. Last time I went inside one the floors were sticky, as if they cleaned up a spilled soda with paper towels but didn’t actually mop the floor.
Chipotle. They’ve been sued for food poisoning multiple times.
Hardee’s. Checkers would probably be my answer if they had indoor areas
Burger King
Any place called Tony’s
Perkins. I’ve never had a good experience
Applebees. I have never once been glad I spent my money there.
Other places might be physically dirtier, but at least the food is decent. Applebees food just sucks. It’s like buying a microwave dinner and paying a 3x markup.
Captain D’s is next level greasy. An absolute disgrace to fish n chips.
I once cleaned out the grease tank at a Krispy Kreme when I worked in sanitation. All of you people that frequent that establishment disgust me.
Long John silvers
Taco John’s
I don’t like *driving by* the Captain D’s in my city (Grand and Chouteau, for STL folks), let alone the notion of venturing inside.
All of them.
Del Taco. It’s trash.
Hometown Buffet. I don’t know if it’s still around anymore, but I had it once about 25 years ago. I still cringe. Everything was dirty, and all the food was either undercooked or overcooked.
There isn’t one. Most large chains are either corporate or Francise owned so its nigh impossible to have one chain be consistently filthy… or clean
Burger king
I don’t think there’s one. I’d eat at any fast food chain.
KFC. My non-American friends are always so surprised to hear that, because KFC is a pretty good restaurant chain outside of the US, but in-country it’s pretty gross.
Golden Corral
White castle
Golden corral. Finally one opened up near me. And the entire time It felt gross and resembling cafeteria food. Never again. Not worth the wait or food.
Waffle House.
Chipoltle…look at the body count.
I’m old enough to remember Hot ‘n Now.
Burger King. They used to be awesome back in the 90’s- better food than McDonald’s, and the kids meals were a lot better in my opinion. Then in the late 00’s the quality dropped significantly, and their locations are all falling apart with employees that look like they are about to stab you. They do have the Beyond Burger which is awesome- but I found myself going elsewhere because it is always an unpleasant experience.
Taco Bell
Long John Silvers. I don’t know how clean it is, but I can’t stand the smell of it. Haven’t been inside one in decades.
Rally’s
I have read all the comments in this thread, and all of these places are places that people go regularly. The truly bad ones are the ones that no one has thought to mention because we’ve filed them so far away into the dark place in our minds.
Thus, the real answer is subway.
Long John Silver’s. Every time I’ve gone in there the floor is slick with grease.
mainly people shitting on the restaurants they worked in. rightfully so. most kitchens are disgusting because people working there don’t care enough.
