Have made three attempts to get into the Marvellous Mrs Maisel and just hate everything about it. However, everyone I speak to seems to think it is amazing.

  1. Never got to the end of the first episode, myself.

Managed 3 episodes of Star Trek: Discovery before giving up in boredom.

  2. Happy Valley. Just a bunch of miserable twats being shitty to each other.
    Hated it within 5 minutes.

  3. Sopranos. Just seemed like the activities of some tired middle class American family, with an occasional murder thrown in to keep it spicy. We tried and tried to get into it, but gave up after about three seasons.

  4. Mr Robot. Felt like dull “we live in a society” shite.

The OA seems to have quite a fanbase too and I thought that was awful for the few episodes I managed before giving up.

  5. Last of Us. The game was good but not a story I thought was all that, in the end, and the show was the same.

  6. Fleabag. Unfunny, pretentious, middle class nonsense. That looking at the camera thing just annoys me infinitely.

  7. Breaking Bad. I liked the first two seasons but after that it went massively down hill for me in terms of writing quality. I still watched it till the end but it was painful.

I keep thinking about giving it another try, that maybe I’m missing something but everytime I think about having to re watch that show I die a little inside.

  8. Hannibal. I love the films but the series just tries too hard to be weird and sometimes just plain cringe.
I love Mads as Hannibal and the show is suitably disturbing, it just doesn’t click for me personally.

  9. I did manage the 1st series of The Witcher, which was excellent. I can’t do the 2nd series , it’s dull and just silly

  10. Ted Lassoo. Wife and I have a rule for comedies, even if we don’t rate the first episode we always watch another couple as you need to get to know the characters and the humour.

Ted Lasso had us break the rule. Terrible.

  11. Succession. I watched season 1 and just thought that it was Arrested Development but taking itself seriously.

  12. Breaking bad. Got up to episode 7 twice but it still didn’t grab me like everybody said it woulf

  13. The handmaid’s tale, its fucking super weird and extremely grim, grey and sad. It’s very hard to even bond with a character.

  14. Peep Show.

It’s just not for me. Cringe comedy doesn’t make me laugh, I just get secondhand embarrassment.

  15. Peaky Blinders. Seemed to consist almost entirely of people walking around in the middle of filthy buildings or sitting in dark rooms where the concept of lighting doesn’t seem to exist, talking and smoking.

Happy Valley- seemed to go nowhere in terms of plot and mostly seemed miserable.

Killing Eve- still trying to work out what the hell was even happening with this show.

Call the Midwife- way too sugary sweet and generally annoying, and the plotlines are so super formulaic. Plus it tries to be too ‘social justice warrior’ for my liking.

  16. Friends, the wife likes to watch it, but I have just never quite got what the fuss is about with this show, don’t get me wrong, there are some laugh out loud moments but it’s not as good as some make it out to be.

  17. Watched season 1 of stranger things and I really CBA to watch the rest. However I shared this opinion with my friends and they cringed back.

  18. Mad Men. Literally bored me to tears. But needed a good cry anyway so wasn’t too worried.

  19. The Office, tried it didn’t find it remotely funny and could not understand the hysteria surrounding it. The fawning over Ricky Gervais put me off anything he did for years.

  20. I couldn’t get into Peaky Blinders. I might give it another chance but even though I like similar shows, it just didn’t grab me for some reason.

  21. Line of duty. First couple of series I thought were great, but i don’t know why after that I just really get back into it.

  22. Mrs Maisel is really great, but like many shows about fictional standup comedians the actual standup segments are the weakest part of the show. You just have to accept that this is what they found funny in the 1950s and move on.

I tried the first few episodes of Sex Education and just bounced off. It was completely ludicrous, like the writers had never even set foot in a UK school. Might as well have been set in Hogwarts.

  23. 2 attempts at The Wire, just hasn’t clicked even though everyone has said it’s so good.

  24. Peaky blinders, not saying it wasn’t good, but it wasn’t my kind of thing. Same with Breaking Bad. Oh and Wednesday got way too much hype for such a mediocre plot and boring, over-stylised characters

  25. How I Met Your Mother and The Big Bang Theory both bore me to death. 😬

  26. The Expanse. I’m a huge Sci Fi fan and generally love space opera… but I’ve tried three times to get into the series and never made it beyond about season 3. There are a few characters I really liked, but on the whole I just didn’t click with it.

  27. The Walking Dead

Tried a couple of times but have never got past the little girl in parking lot in scene 1. I know he shoots her but I’ve never even seen him do it. I’m just bored of the whole thing by then!

  28. Succession.

Couldn’t make it through the first episode. Found it tonally bizarre.

  29. After Life. Don’t understand how people are crying and laughing in the same episode? It was shite

  30. Gavin and Stacey, found all of them irritating and really didn’t understand the hype
