Women of Reddit who are with partners your parents didn’t approve of, what did your parents do? How did your relationship to them evolve?

1. i simply dont care. i only contact them occasionally when my kid wants to see them. they were and are cruel to me. i tell them as long as they are nice to my kid and she has a good time shes free to go as she pleases.

   they ignore his existence for the most part. dont even look at him usually or when conversation is forced proceed to ask him his job then talk over him informing him hes a bank teller when he isnt. he works in the cozy offices but they dont care so we dont bother correcting them. nothing matters to them that isnt their narrative and we are well aware.

   so rlly nothing has changed. besides him being flabbergasted at how spot on i was and i wasnt being in the slightest way dramatic anytime i ever talked about them.
