How long are your showers? And does your hair length drastically affect the time it takes?

  1. 10-15 minutes. I have long hair but it doesn’t affect how long I’m in the shower by that much.

  2. Anywhere between 15 minutes to 2 hours. My hair length has nothing to do with it, for the long showers I’ll just apply a hair mask and put it in a shower cap, I just delight in the feeling of burning alive in the shower while playing music on full blast.

  3. A “leisurely” shower for me without washing my hair is def under 10 minutes. Prob about 10-13 mins if I wash my hair (and it is long). Sometimes I’m in and out in 5 mins or less if I just need a quick body shower and have very little time.

But if water and time wasn’t of the essence I would stay in a hot shower for a long ass time though lol.

  4. 15-30 minutes. I have collarbone length hair but it’s insanely thick (even after thinning it out a bunch with thinning shears).

I also have plaque psoriasis on my scalp so I have to use medicated shampoo once a week to help keep that from being to big of an issue. The medicated shampoo has to stay on my head for 3 minutes before I rinse it.

I use that time for a scalp massage and body wash. I also used to have very long hair (past shoulder blades/down to lower back) and showering took a lot longer for me.

As for how often I wash my hair… I wash it when it starts feeling gross or my scalp starts to itch more than normal. So usually every 2-3 days I can’t go longer than that without washing my hair and I use high-end hair products. My bank account hates that.

  5. Not the length but the thickness, my whole day is a wash day. The hair washing is just an hour of the entire day process.

  6. Depends if I’m washing my hair. I only wash it once a week – that shower takes about 15 minutes or so because I take my time and enjoy it. Otherwise only about 3 minutes in and out. I’m Australian-,we tend to take saving water pretty seriously here. Short hair does take less time to wash and condition, but it really only makes a couple of minutes difference for me

  7. Usually 1-4 songs long, longer if Sam(see profile pic) needs a bath because it’s just easier to wash him in the shower too. Then it’s 5-7 Eagles songs. I cut my hair really short for summer so it takes no time.

All the fur kids in my house have different musical taste: the old man cat(18 yrs old) prefers classic rock, Sam, my dog, prefers Southern flavored rock and the little cat(age 9 yrs) prefers Hank Williams Sr, Haggard, Cash and Cajun music.

  8. I really like taking a shower 😁 and i have a very long hair so it takes a while for me to finish. 30 mins to 45 mins.

  9. Anywhere from 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending on what I need to do, or how I’m feeling. Sometimes I like to just sit under the running water.

  10. I never timed it, but it doesn’t take that long. I just wash off and get out of there.

My hair is medium long, and that does take some extra minutes. But not much. It’s not washing my hair that I hate, it’s all the product and dry and styling crap that goes on afterwards

  11. 10-15 about, my hair is short 4c and that’s enough time unless I’m doing a detangling

  12. Shoulder length hair but an hour shower bc the heat helps with all my pains

  13. Australian – it depends how much water we have.

Full tanks, 5-10 mins inc washing shoulder length hair, exfoliating and shaving.

Limited water – 2 mins power scrub.

15mins is usually a mental health shower where i need to escape everyone.

  14. In the extremes, yes. I mean, there’s very little difference between my hair being 12″ long or 14″ long. However, there’s a difference between my hair being collarbone-length and waist-length. Also, there are days where, no matter the length, I simply don’t wash/wet my hair, which cuts down on time.

If I’m not washing my hair, I can be done in less than 10 minutes. If I’m washing my long hair (which also means conditioning it), that brings me up to around 15 or so minutes.

Of course, add in any time for extras, like shaving my legs, but that doesn’t get done with every shower.

  15. My rinse is 5min

A standard shower is 10 min

A shower that involves shampoo and conditioner is 15-20min

  16. Usual 5-8 mins, with washing hair and shaving legs and all that crap like 20 tops. Hair legnth plays a part but only like +/- 3 mins

  17. Shower without a hair wash is 10-15 minutes. My hair is long so if I wash it, that adds another 10 minutes to wash, condition, and detangle every couple of days.

  18. 15 minutes if I’m washing my hair, about 3 minutes if I’m not. Add ~5 minutes if I shower the baby too (which I do most nights).

  19. 7 to 15 minutes.

I wash my hair and deep condition every 3 days. My hair is medium, and that adds the extra time.

7 minutes on non hair days.

I had an apartment that had a tiny hot water heater that ran out of hot water in minutes. I still have the fast soaping up habit 2 decades later.

  20. 30-45 minutes and I have very long hair so it does take longer when I wash it

  21. I used to take 30 – 40 minute showers. But then I moved to a place where the hot water runs out in 10 mins so uh, 10 mins. I don’t really associate hair washing with showers, but I think that’s because I have a wash day, it’s not like I wash my hair every time I shower. Typically I wear a shower cap. Wash day in my new place looks very different and short hair would make a difference in this case! But I don’t want to cut my hair so. Sink soaking, sink washing in my stupid leaky sink. Then soap, water to rinse. Off. Repeat, repeat. Repeat. It’s a stupid long process that would be way easier if I could just take a 30 min shower again lmao

  22. It really depends on who or what I need to do in there 😂 a typical shower is probably about 10 minutes if I’m just doing a regular hair wash (it’s about halfway down my back).

  23. I once had a very short shoulder length when straightened cut (natural curly Caucasian hair). Some days I’d just run wet fingers through my hair and let it dry natural- that’s how short my showers could be. I’ve also had my hair all the way curly to my seat. Those were the longest showers ever. Mid length now and doesn’t matter too much for time. I can take a 1 min rinse off or a 30min shower.

  24. My hair is down to my waist, and while cleaning my scalp doesn’t take any longer, making sure I’ve got all of the shampoo and conditioner out of my hair, and it probably takes me a few more minutes of rinsing then when it was shorter. But what takes the most time is shaving.

If it’s an everything kind of shower with hairwash + hairmask, body scrub, and shaving everything, it will take me 15-25 minutes. If it’s just a body wash and shaving, it takes me 10-15 minutes. If it is just a bodywash without washing my hair or shaving, I need 5 minutes max.

  25. The shower is so much fun! I try to keep it to 10/15 minutes but that rarely happens. Time depends on what I’m doing in there and how great the warm water feels. Hair length doesn’t affect the time at all. My hair is long but very easy.

  26. About 20 minutes for my regular morning shower where I’m washing my hair, body and face and maybe shaving my armpits. Longer if I’m shaving my legs/bikini area and shorter if it’s an evening post-workout shower where I’m not washing my hair.

My hair is pretty long and requires almost daily washing, so it eats up a pretty big chunk of my showering time. I’ve given up on blow drying my hair because I already spend so much time washing it that I’m not willing to devote even more time to drying it 😅

  27. On the long end, they’re 15 minutes, but usually 10 or less. My hair is almost down to my butt and it takes most of the time with washing and rinsing.

  28. When I don’t have to wash my hair, I can be in and out of a shower in 5 minutes. With hair, it’s at least 20 minutes. If I feel like shaving my legs, add another 10.

  29. 10 minutes if not washing hair, 15 minutes if washing hair and 30 minutes if washing body + hair + shaving

  30. If I’m shaving, 15-20 minutes. If not, 10 minutes. I have pretty long hair but that’s doesn’t affect the shower time, it just affects the brushing/drying routine after (and it kind of sucks!)

  31. If I just shower and don’t enjoy the water, which is most of the time, 10 minutes, 20 maybe if I shave.

Have had hair past my boobs and a pixie cut, takes the same time for me c

  32. Anywhere from 5-25 min depending on what all I gotta do in there! I don’t think there was a huge difference between long hair and short hair for me.

  33. My hair is to my boobies and I take showers anywhere between 5 mins-20 mins daily?

Days that I’m shaving all my bits’n’things closer towards the longer end of the spectrum.

  34. Average about 20 minutes lately. If I need to do an everything shower, probably closer to an hour/an hour and a half.

  35. 2 songs usually, 3 songs max so 6-12 minutes depending on song length. And my hairs waist length and thick and i let my conditioner sit for a couple minutes.

But i have Aquagenic Pruritus so i prefer to be in and out as fast as possible for less of a reaction.

Plus, why waste water? I can shower fully with less than 3 gallons camping.

  36. 6 mins. I have hair down to my butt. I get in, wash everything and get out. I’m not big on just standing there.

  37. In and out in 5 minutes or below. I’m not one to stand under the water and “enjoy” it.

  38. I have medium hair length and when I do a full shower it takes at most 20 minutes.

  39. 5 minutes without washing hair or shaving, 10 minutes with hair wash, 15 minutes with shaving and 20 minutes for the full service lol
Hair length doesn’t really affect it, I wear extensions, and I can tell it takes the same amount of time on hair wash days as when I don’t have them in.

  40. Without shaving: <10 minutes.

    With shaving: >25-30 minutes.

I have very short hair, lol.

  41. I have only 5-7 minutes of scaldingly hot water where I live then it’s cold so I tend to turn the water on and off to conserve it. My shower is maybe 15-20 minutes but the water is off a lot between things. My hair is waist length. So for example I’ll turn the water on, get my hair wet, lather up my shampoo, then turn the water off and distribute it and scrub my scalp. Turn the water back on to rinse it out and apply my conditioner. Turn the water off and let my conditioner set for 5 to 7 minutes while I scrub down my body with body wash head to toe and comb through my hair with a wet brush. Then turn the water on and rinse out my hair and re comb it.

  42. 8 minutes. And I have hair down to my lower back.

Most of my time is spent after my shower combing and conditioning it.
