I will preface this by saying my family many gen from NYC/Miami & their suburbs and we haven’t traveled much. My spouse is not American and my three kids are between 4-11. I can work digitally over the summer – where should we go to experience non-big city typical America. Heartland? Texas? Utah? Appalachia. I really want to just see something different than giant urban buildings/LI mansions or old school Miami.

  2. How far into the weeds you want to go there, Crawl? You trying to ride a pig, and drive a tractor. Or you just want a sleepy mid size town?

Or even something like Oklahoma City, a metro with actual art, music, and a few hipster areas mixed in with redneck bars, and diners with killer chicken fried steak, that moves at a different pace?
