How often do you get complimented for your appearance?

1. Never. I don’t go outside and avoid society.

2. A lot, 90% of the time I’d say. Apparently I look like Angelina Jolie, so I usually get that compliment right off the bat when meeting someone new.

3. Every day by my partner, and about 80% of days I spend more than like two hours in public

5. Maybe once a week, especially now that I have learned to dress myself but the thing is I’ve grown up an ugly duckling, so most of the time while I say thank you, in my head I don’t really believe it.

   There was one time a guy I dated told me I look like a goddess which I found really sweet but I don’t believe it so much that I think I end up laughing.

6. Frequently. I wear a mask at work (senior living facility) and people always say I have pretty eyes.

7. I can’t recall even one instance of that ever happening.

8. Once in a blue moon, if I have got dressed up for a special event, last time was for a wedding last May

9. Every morning when I look in the mirror. but seriously, I lost 80+lbs 6 years ago and have kept it off. I physically feel very good. Other people just tell me I’m funny.

17. I’m rarely complimented on my appearance. When people see me they instead say something like “Omg you’re so small!” Like yea, I know I’m 4’7” and 20 years old, you don’t need to tell me.

20. Happens more often with new people I meet. I feel like it’s not normal to get appearance specific compliments from people we see a lot. The compliments get much more specific and usually focus more on clothes/makeup.

    I get a lot of compliments on my specific outfits in the workplace, like there’s really certain outfits I know gets complimented. A pair of leather pants I have tends to get a lot of positive response. I work for a beauty brand so people are very appreciative of fashion and makeup.

    I’ve come to find that compliments say a lot more about the person delivering them than what they say about me. I have a friend who always tells people they’re pretty. I always get a friendly vibe from people who compliment my outfits.

22. From my husband? Every few days probably. From strangers/family/friends, essentially never.

23. Pretty often. It freaks my husband out because the compliment is usually “you have such nice skin”.

24. Every once in a while. It’s usually about my silver hair, which has been that color for over a decade now (I’ve never colored it). No one ever complimented me on my hair when it was dark, but now that I’m gray, it attracts attention. I’ll take it!

28. Never.. always negative feedback especially from family 😞😢 even though I live in a different state

29. Every once in a while. I used to get complimented much more frequently before the pandemic. Once I started WFH and stopped going out the compliments also stopped, at least from other people. My husband compliments me everyday though.
