Seems to be a common theme to wait to respond or do not respond to quick but this never seems to actually affect anything in my situations one way or another. If someone is not interested in the first place they will never notice you not responding fast. So what is the answer when all situations end with this conclusion of dry texts with long response times from someone?

  1. It’s asinine behaviour in my opinion, but people are worried that replying when they see something, if they have the words, seems desperate or clingy. And in deliberately dry texting to avoid that, they’ll just make the other person reply even more infrequently.

Either you like someone or you don’t. Pretending to be busy when you aren’t is immature.

  2. I’d rather reply back and let someone know I’m doing xyz thing and will get back to them when I can reply in a more valuable way, then just leaving them hanging.
