I have been dating her for almost 3 years. We broke up2 months ago over long distance. because she thought she was moving back home and I could not move with her.
2 weeks ago she found a job here and now she could stay. Since then, she has been reaching out to me quite a bit from just texting at the start to now video call. I told her I am hoping to get back together, but she just keep saying she doesn’t know about it and probably needs time.
Today she told me that she put too much stress on herself when we were dating. Wondering where I am at, and what I am doing. In general really clingy, which I told her when we were together but she took it defensively and said that I am pushing her away.
She also said she is comfortable with what we are now just calling and catching up and doesn’t know if she is ready for a relationship again. She said it’s because she wants to give all her heart when she is in one.
My question is should I keep in contact and hope we could try again or just slowly start to back away from this and move on.
My heart tells me to keep trying but my brain says, she will never make a choice unless I leave her presence.
What do you guys think?

TL:DR Broke up over a Long distance, the situation changed. She’s unsure if she wants to go back and try again. but we still text/call each other, Not sure if this is right or not

So, first she wasn’t even willing to try long distance and now that distance is short, she’s not even willing to try to reconnect? Maybe I’m missing something but this just seems like she’s keeping you around as a backup option while she plays the field a bit. I know she said she’s not ready for a relationship, but that doesn’t mean she’s not going on dates either.
If you still want to wait for her to be ready, have a conversation about being exclusive while waiting. If she won’t commit, be clear that you won’t either.
Whats the complications? Shes not that into you and want to play the field and maybe keep you as a backup plan
