  1. We should just officially recognize Taiwan as an independent nation instead of this half-truth dance as we try not to offend China’s expansionist dreams.

  2. I don’t quite get why she felt the need to do the trip there in the first place when it was clearly gonna stir up the ccp, especially now, when a zoom call to talk to the people she’s meeting or them coming to America would’ve worked just as good.

But since it was leaked and the ccp started bitching the hand was kinda forced but putting herself and the US into a situation where we have to call their bluff isn’t sustainable.

  3. An 80 year old who should be retired playing chicken with the Chinese just for show. Apparently because she has nothing better to do and the Biden administration doesn’t know what they’re doing. It’s all pointless.

  4. I don’t think we should be bowing down and taking orders from any country. That being said, she did this when we are at our weakest.

  5. My question is, are foreign diplomatic visits common for the Speaker? It seems out of place as diplomacy is the Executive’s purview and Pelosi is the only Speaker that I’m aware of having done them, but then she’s the only Speaker that I’ve really paid any attention to. I had to look it up to see who else has had the position since Gingrich.

  6. I do not like Pelosi.

I also think we should have a revolving jet that flies from DC to Taiwan and every week it’s a different US politician taking it and spending a week there.

  7. She visited a US ally. It’s not news really. China doesn’t get to decide where US politicians go to.

  8. The PRC claims that Taiwan is theirs and the government there is run by a rogue rump State. But said State has been successfully self-governing over 70 years, has taken numerous foreign emissaries and dignitaries and participated in various sovereign treaties. And while the PRC is making noise of empty threats, their main adversary has sent billions in military aid and hardware over time and is now sending their top officials there without reprisal despite the PRC’s vows. It is clearly evident that the PRC has lost the Mandate. The Heavens have repeatedly divined Taiwan to be ruled righteously as they are now and prosperous.

  9. Pissing off Rebel Occupied West Taiwan is second only to dunking on the Russian government on my hobbies list.

So I feel pretty good about it.

  10. Eh, it’s honestly nothing really special. It’s only really a big deal because Winnie the Pooh makes it a big deal

  11. She’s a D.C. snake, piece of shit, jet setting on the tax payers dime! No reason for her to go there regardless of how China feels about it. She can do her personal business with Taiwan on Zoom!

  12. I think it’s refreshing she took a break from insider trading and focused on doing it internationally

  13. At this point I find it hard to care about anything like this anymore.

The world has been so shitty for the past few years. Who cares anymore? Let’s call china’s bluff.

  14. I’m not a fan of Pelosi but I’m glad she didn’t let China tell us where our politicians can go

  15. Huge respect even as a moderate conservative with well not exactly the highest opinions of her

  16. One one hand she should be able to visit where ever she wants. On the otherhand it seems like an unnecessary provocation of China, regardless of how dumb their claims are.

  17. I’m surprised China hasn’t realized yet that telling the US we can’t do something only guarantees that we will do it because fuck you.

  18. I couldn’t give two shits… but why her?? Can’t find someone, I dunno, not her?

  19. If China wasn’t making a big shitpiss over it, no one would have really cared or paid any attention. They made it a much bigger deal than it needed to be and after their threats she pretty much had to see it through.
