What is the process of getting your driver's licence in your state? As in from going from zero to full licence (not needing qualified driver with you).
In Australia most states are roughly the same:
– 16 yo and up, do a written test to get your learners (L) permit. This allows you to drive with a qualified driver beside you.
– Provisional 1 (P1)licence – held your learners for 12 months (6 months if over 25 yo), completed 75 hours of driving, a hazard perception test on computer and a driving test and assessment with a qualified instructor.
– After 12 months of having P1 you automatically upgrade to P2
– To get full unrestricted licence you must be 20 yo and had P1 for 12 months and P2 for 2 years.
