This is our newest unrelenting positivity post.

The state in question is the great state of West Virginia.

To all our foreign friends give a shout ask questions send praise. To our Americans do the same.

Ask questions, share stories, make jokes. Just remember not to be a jerk.

Recall the famous phrase my grandma invented “if you don’t have anything nice to say don’t say anything that isn’t redemptively funny.”

Stay tuned for 43/50 after this one. Only a few more.

The states are in random order based on my whim at the moment. Today’s whim is losing my dog in hill country and it scared the heck out of me.

  1. I’ve heard nothing but good things about New River Gorge National Park!

Also, West Virginia gave us the McElroy brothers and they’re some of my favorite podcasters.

  2. Some of my fondest childhood memories with my mom were rafting the new river. I’d love to take my own kids on a rafting trip down there someday, beautiful country

  3. Question, will they ever build an airport in the eastern West VA?

West VA is home to some of the kindest people.

  4. Sing it with me everyone…

    COUNTRY ROADS!

(The original songwriter of this song, who penned the lyrics for/with John Denver, confirmed that the song lyrics reference the state of WV, and not western Virginia, despite the geography mentioned in the first verse)

  5. Driving through on the way to Wilmington NC, you get what John Denver was talkin about

  6. I’ve always wanted to see the mountains that were once next to Scotland.

  7. If you’re into glass you should go and visit the Blenko factory in Milton.

  8. God, I love that state. Wonderful people. Wonderful scenery. And Tudor’s Biscuit smacks.

  9. My grandmother was from Welch. Exploring it in Fallout 76 felt weirdly personal.
