I've been chatting with a guy off and on for awhile and the conversation usually flows pretty well. But I've come to notice that if I don't start the conversation it will just go dead. He occasionally asks questions about me, but it's usually a "and what about?" after I've asked a question. He told me he's on the spectrum so I'm trying to be cognizant of that before I completely write him off. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if he's just putting up with me and just being polite while not really interested or if he's just shy/not good with social interactions. How can I tell without just being like "do you hate me?" I'm kinda new to dating in general because I was in a long term relationship since highschool which ended a few years ago. I took some time off to work on myself and I'm getting back out there, but it's been difficult.
