Tl;dr : my asian friend asked me if I am attracted to Asian people and I said no. Does it seem harsh ?
I \[22M\] was in a brunch with my friend \[22M\].
For context: we’ve known each other since late high school so 4 to 5 years. I consider him a good friend.
I am Arab and he is Korean. We are both gay.
While we were having conversations about our love life he asked me out of the blue "what do you think of Asian men and women ?”
I answered “ I find them very beautiful but it’s not really my thing I have no attraction just admiration” (my thing being Arabs, whites and Latinos. He literally knows what type of men I like)
He seemed taken back by my answer. I really felt that I offended him so I said “sorry”. That made the thing worse apparently??
I am 97.8% sure both of us are just loyal friends. We’ve seen the ups and downs of each other but never really been romantic.
It’s been a week and he doesn’t answer my calls or my texts but he sure reads them. I am planning to just drop in and say hey. It is the longest time we never spoke to each other.
