Doing my best to step out of my comfort zone and attend a board game get together hosted at a local LGBT focused bar.
Problem is, I’ve never even been to a regular bar. The thought of an establishment where people gather for the sake of socialising already has me breaking out in a sweat. I’m not sure how ordering drinks works, how paying works, nor do I know any drinks past the names of a few beers. If relevant, I’m in the UK.
Is there some social rules I should be aware of? I’ll be going in solo and have no idea what the setup for the group is, if they’re in their own section, if I’ll know it when I see them, e.t.c., so I’ll Setting myself up for failure here but I want to take a shot at it.
After the regular bar rules, is there additional etiquette standard in LGBT focused bars? I would hate to accidentally offend someone, though I think myself to be quite inoffensive.
Any other tips to make it through the night would be greatly appreciated!
