why are some apps weirdly successful/still so popular in the UK? While they have seemingly fallen off or are less popular elsewhere e.g. Reddit and Snapchat.

Snapchat is the one with way less popularity now worldwide but in the UK it is still a mainstay especially amongst the youth. Reddit on the other hand has overtaken the popularity of TikTok on some metrics which is wild to think about. Wondering what causes this. What’s so special about the UK market in particular. Thanks.
