Me and my bf have been dating for 7 months now and are doing long distance over the summer. I'm finally getting on birth control and he's going to visit me soon. Since I'm getting an IUD (copper) I want to start having sex without condoms but I'm not sure if it's appropriate to ask him for a test. He's my first, so I don't have any risks for him but he's had sex with other girls in the past. I guess it would've been more appropriate to ask when we first started having sex, but I'm new to all this and didn't think about it. I trust him that I'm his only partner, but I guess you can never really be 100% sure. Especially since we're doing long distance and he's going on vacation. I don't have a lot of friends that talk about this stuff openly, so I'm just curious if this is normal to ask.
