It's genuinely a curse. It sucks to be a lonely young person in a small town (like less than a thousand people – mostly elders)
People usually "talk to your classmates/coworkers etc." what if I have known them for all my life and I've already attempted to befriend them?
Something I also hear a lot is "go to an event/workshop/club, take up a sport etc." There's none of that here unfortunately.
The only logical thing to do is go to a city and meet friends there obviously. The thing is, not a lot of people are interested in staying friends with/texting someone whom they've only seen once, especially if they live far away – they can just find other friends in their city, no? :(((
And frequenting a place in the city which is far away from you is quite expensive tbh.
Enough ranting, how do you actually meet someone AND stay friends when you live in a small town? Is it even possible atp?
(I'm sorry if this comes off as whiny or just making up excuses, I've been struggling for years) 🙁
