Hey, guys. I honestly am looking for advice in how to handle this situation. tl;dr my ex boyfriend and i have been going out again, and he's leaving for the whole summer. how do i ask him to try again for real this time when he gets back?
My (16, F) ex-boyfriend (18, M) and I broke up one year ago. We were each other's first "real" relationship, and first kiss, etc etc. We are on the mathletes team, (nerdy, I know) and I am next year's team captain. This whole last year he has been kind of rude post break up, but somewhere around march that changed. i needed his help for something related to the team and after that we just started texting again. we eventually met up to work out the issue, and then we ended up getting food and he paid for me. we talked for two hours in his car. nothing romantic happened but it definitely was the start of something. we ended up texting and hanging out again a bunch, and about a month after the initial hangout he told me he is working 4 hours away for the whole summer. literally leaving the day before school ends, (this friday), and returning two days before the start of school. We kissed the next time we hung out. he kind of talked about it, and agreed right now we are casual and non exclusive, just having fun. we briefly talked about possibly for real getting back together at the end of the summer when he returns, but we both agreed we can't decide on that yet. on Wednesday we are going on our last date before he leaves. how do i ask him to go out with me when he gets back?
