My brother-in-law lives alone, works constantly, and never takes the time to clean his house. It's not dirty like piles of dishes or a hoarding situation, it's dirty like years of accumulated dust and piles of laundry that just needs to be done. He had some long-haired dogs for a while and that made it a thousand times worse. He's in his 50's now and in excellent shape, so it's not a mobility issue.

I spent a Saturday hanging out with him and cleaning up but the sheer volume of cleaning that needs to be done it's just too much. His birthday is coming up so thought about getting him a cleaner to do his entire house.

The problem is he's got this paranoia thing about people wanting to steal his stuff, so previous offers for that fell through. The people we use are trusted and, to be honest, he doesn't have anything worth stealing. How can I convince him to give it a shot?
