I had a father that never showed me how to do anything a father usually bonds with his son…Because HE had to do everything and refused to teach me his own son anything otherwise God forbid my mum ask me for help vs him. Now I am 32 and just bought a house with my fiancée. The more I sit in this house the more I begin to realized…I am totally unprepared.

What I mean is that my father was a maintenance guy he knew a lot and is able to get a lot done: plumbing, electrical, flooring shit basically everything uknw? Yet here I am with little knowledge… I know some basics because I knew I had to learn certain things.

When you got your first home what were the main important things you felt you needed to learn?

I want to make certain that I live a life where I am knowledgeable enough to teach my future kids how to make repairs and build what is in a house, but also feel proud of what I know (but also impress the Mrs!). I know I have a lot to learn and part of that was me out of spite for him. Anyways I appreciate any advice that you guys have to offer and thank you for letting me say my piece.
