Hi I’m 1yr old, can I start over?
You can really only speak up to ages 40-44, if your flair is to be believed.
A lot of people could get fucked by 45, listening to you.
What of us that had an aborted start.
Games not fair when you didn’t get to learn the rules first
OP spitting truth. I’ve made so many pivots, rebuilt from ground 0, and changed things about my life at multiple points so far. When we pass away, after say 300 years. Most of us will be forgotten (unless you eat the Mona Lisa or something). Some people find that depressing but I take it as a free pass to do what I want. Especially with the attention span people have today, even if people around you don’t necessarily approve, they’ll likely for get, move on, or evntually accept it
Life’s more complicated than that for most. Can’t really say to your kids that daddy’s bored of work so noodles and no vacations for the next 3 years.
This becomes obvious when you like 25+, i think everyone were in their “my life is doomed” era some point of their lifes.
Thems is the 📠
Im gonna be 45 in August. Ill be attending college (for the first time) in January.
“But what about me specifically? My circumstances are different” as they proceed to list out some generic situations or really some decent starting grounds to build up
At 61 I really need to hear this.
Yes, within reason. Time, family, and finances are real constraints. Sometimes we need to make peace with certain realities of life
Some people have much harder circumstances than others – injuries, addictions, lack of qualifications, even just being from poor, corrupt countries with more rigid class hierarchies, etc. Some people have families who depend on their consistency and would be put at serious risk with drastic changes.
It’s not always so easy, and sometimes the best thing a man can do is try to make the best of a shitty situation.
But if you’re just worried about failing, or if you’ve lost everything and you HAVE to start over – it is worth knowing that thousands of men, from all ages and all walks of life, have done it. You only live once, so you might as well give it your best shot.
My 50th birthday present to myself will be graduating law school. Being an attorney will be my 4th or 5th, and hopefully my last, career.
In the last decade+, I’ve completely started over. Left my *entire* family, former social circle, and first marriage behind (religious shunning is a bitch), closed my business, went bankrupt, dealt with a second failing marriage during covid lockdown, got out of that marriage, went back to school, got great scholarships and kicked ass, had a couple relationships I thought might be “the one”, but none panned out. That one’s a particular kick in the balls at the moment.
But now, I’ve lost 70 pounds, I’m getting my fitness regimen shaped up, I’m back in therapy, and realizing how much of an ass kicker I actually am. That’s helping me get my mind right for the last heavy lift I hope I have to make- finding that one right person.
I’ve been lucky but I’ve also been smart and worked hard. It’s not always easy, but I believe we can all do more than we might think.
I haven’t been conceived yet (pls I have heard every jizz joke it’s not funny).
I have three Q1 journals and a PhD, just bought a supra, can melt wooden objects with my gaze only.
Anyhow I’m wondering if it’s over for me.
My FIL was a millionaire in his 20s and lost it all being young and dumb. Last year he stared a new company and is a millionaire again at 67
I’d like to believe you man, but I’m not so optimistic for me
I’m 35 starting over. Bankruptcy approved, losing the house, throwing away most of my items that aren’t worth selling, selling what’s left, moving 3 hours away to a new place with just my car, cat and Xbox/tv.
I got a bad cataract surgery and couldn’t be a chef anymore. I’m 58 and in one year I will graduate as an automation engineer.
So it is possible to start over. But it also helps that I’m European. School is free, and I get 1385$ a month from the government. I had to buy a new laptop, but that was the only expense I had.
Amazing, bravo, real truth.
53 and laid off in a niche industry. Best believe I’m convinced that you can start over. Dafuq choice is there sometimes?
I’m 36, just joined the Navy as a psychologist.
Correct
We’ve been programmed to have meaning with numbers attached to our years, but in reality it means F all
Hell yeah. I don’t know who’s going to take care of my kids but I’ll start over, how do I de-age I want a second shot at school.
I’m gonna buy so much fuckin bitcoin
@50 I thought I was cooked. Met an 80 year old who told me he’d just had the best 10 years of his life. Fast forward 15 years and it’s been a fantastic run for me.
