Do you also feel like the few seconds where you’re being buttered up prior to being asked to do something (or a favour) feels like 300 years of torture?

I find this excruciating, especially when there's a long prelude to eventually getting to the question, after a bit of beating around the bush along with a bit of over exaggerated friendliness and maybe some space invading. It can also be made 1000 times worse with the additional introducing line of, "are you busy?", when you're clearly concentrating on something, carrying out a task or multitasking a handful of jobs. Unlike this post….. just get to the point!!
