while thinking about relationships i can't see myself in an open relationship so i was thinking about marriage and it's consequences including the possibility of divorce for me divorce is not necessarily a failure of the relationship but rather the end of it.

never thought of a divorce as a last resort but i have a sense that I would never be in a marriage for so long because of these ideas.

what do you think?

  1. I mean divorce being an option doesn’t automatically doom your marriage. It’s like having car insurance – you’re not planning to crash but you’re being realistic about life. Most successful marriages I know work because both people choose to stay every day rather than feeling trapped with no way out

  2. It’s always an option whether someone wants to acknowledge it or not. The idea that one would never divorce is archaic and delusional to real issues that require separation.

  3. Never thought about it as a possibility after 15 years

    Never crossed my mind

I dont think its unhealthy either way

Its a possibility for any marriage

  4. Don’t get married . Not worth it if you’re going to get divorced
