I’ve just had a cold call from a recruiter from Oscar technology.

They were very light on job details and very heavy on asking me inane questions.

When I asked what the salary band was, she wouldn’t say, and asked me what I would take. I asked again for the salary band and she refused to say, so I ended the call.

I’m not job hunting at the moment, but a year or so ago this kind of tactic would have been considered tacky and opaque. Is this the state of the industry now?
