  1. Well I finished the first Frostpunk scenario. The city mostly survived though I had to resort to 14 hour work shifts (including the children too) in -60C weather which caused quite a few deaths via overwork and sickness. At least they had a warm house and food most of the time even if I couldn’t cope with the medical care crisis. Oh yeah one kid had to be sacrificed to the generator near the end because I overcharged it too much. Luckily they couldn’t rebel even at the end when there was a food shortage on top of the shitty conditions. With enough religion and violence, you can get people to endure pretty much anything. All the public whipping by my religious police and praying was great for morale.

  2. Cold morning in Palermo, temperature is more like winter than spring today! Of course by our standards.

Yesterday I made kunafeh (Palestinian style) to celebrate Eid, the end of Ramadan..it turned out ok but it can’t compare with the ones I ate in the Near/ Middle East.

I have to work this morning, heading to the local prison, sounds like a difficult but interesting case,I am doing only the translation for the official documentation before the case goes to court.

  3. Today’s brunch: blazed salmon, french fries and mushroom salad. And a big mug of dark roast coffee.

After this meal settles down, I’ll pack my birding stuff in a backpack and take a bicycle ride to a spot nearby, where people have reported seeing 11 species within the last 24 hours, half of which are species I haven’t seen this year yet, and one that I have not seen in my entire life, the Mistle thrush, Turdus viscivorus, or Kulorastas in Finnish.

  4. Good morning to all. Yesterday I got a call from the War Museum in Athens, to which I wrote an email regarding the practice I want to do. In the email, I asked if they were going to register in the Atlas Platform for practice providers and the woman with whom I was speaking said that it’s very possible they do. If they accept me there, it will be very convenient, since the practice is 8 hours long and the museum closes at 17:00.

  5. I bought chestnut flour on a whim (it was on sale) and now I have no idea what to do with it. Has anyone used it before? Feels very French or Italian.

  6. Now the [live webcam](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IULBoWwXozc) of the migrating Eurasian cranes gathering at Pulken is up and running for the season!

The arrival of the cranes is always and amazing sight and such a welcome and important sign of spring. The feeding of the cranes at Pulken has now also begun. The cranes are feed several times daily by local farmers, so that they will leave the newly planted crops in the surrounding fields alone.

At the latest count yesterday there were about 2,400 cranes gathered, but at its peak around the end of March to beginning of April there are often more than 10,000 cranes gathered at the same time.

Pulken is a nature reserve within the Unesco world biosphere reserve Vattenriket, centered on the large wetlands around the city of Kristianstad in northeastern Scania. The arrival of the cranes at Pulken every year draws many visitors not just from around Scania and southern Sweden but also from Denmark and Germany. I’m also so much looking forward to my own annual visit now, which will be next weekend!

  7. A Ukranian art product brand that I love recently launched a new gouache line, and I’ve seen that they’re also available in Germany now. Guys give me strength to not buy them. I just bought a bunch of gouache.

The streaming service that my husband subscribed to now has a ton of Chuck Norris films on offer. May he rest in peace and kick ass in the afterlife.

  8. Turns out I’m getting a good size tax refund, what a joy. I know it’s my money, I’m not really getting anything, in fact I’d probably be better off having had that money all this time, but nonetheless it feels great to get money.
