Hi everyone, I need some honest advice.

My boyfriend recently told me he needs space. He also mentioned that I can be quite emotional and tend to chat a lot, and that sometimes he doesn’t have the energy for it.

Even after saying that, he was still checking in with me with 1–2 messages here and there. But I realize that I may have overwhelmed him a bit by continuing conversations because I was feeling anxious.

A couple of days ago, I asked him something casually, and he hasn’t replied since. It’s been 2 days now.

I’m confused about what to do:

• Part of me wants to respect his space and not message at all

• But another part of me feels guilty… what if he’s actually going through something and I’m not showing up when I should?

I don’t even want a reply from him right now. I just want to send a simple message like:

“Hope everything’s okay. Take care.”

Just to show that I care and that I’m not upset.

But I’m also worried that messaging might:

• overwhelm him again

• or make things worse

So I’m stuck between:

👉 respecting his space

👉 vs showing quiet support

What would you do in this situation?
