I (35F) have been with my boyfriend (35M) for just over a year. Last night I asked him about a girl who popped up on my newsfeed on insta that he had liked a post of and he follows. When I clicked on her name I recognised her profile as someone who he used to work with. He seemed to hesitate and then eventually said “I worked with her” and then I said “oh yeah she’s the one that x” and he was like “so you do know who she is”. I just explained that after I asked him I realised I recognised the profile. But he didn’t seem happy with that and then accused me of ‘testing’ him. We get into a whole back and forth and I’m trying to defuse the situation because I don’t want to argue. I eventually said I just needed some space because we’re fighting over something that shouldn’t matter. A few hours later I notice he’s removed me on Instagram as well as Facebook. I told him it makes him look suspicious because why would he do that? He seems to be punishing me by giving me the silent treatment and withdrawing just because I asked for some space.
