  1. Happy St Patrick’s Day to anyone who celebrates it!

This evening we’re going to a party at an ‘Irish pub’.Run by Italians but never mind…it should be interesting anyway.Irish food, beer, music and dancing…

  2. I have a cunning plan.

I’ve realized two video types that piss me off are 1) ones where a dude’s (most often bearded) face fills the screen, with a microphone in front of him, often wearing a baseball cap, and the voice is recorded as if making an ASMR video (with subjects ranging from canned sardines to extreme right talking points), and 2) ones where some streamer is either doing shockingly stupid stuff in a public place or commenting on what has happened.

My plan? To try to learn to react to one of the two popping on my screen by scrolling away as fast as possible, to teach algorithms I’m not interested, instead of getting stuck with what essentially works as ragebait for me.

    Wish me luck.

  3. I had bought two sketch books a while ago, and they sat unused for nearly a year since I couldn’t figure out what to do with them (they’re stapled A5 size books, and I usually use spiral bound ones. Also the texture was a bit different to what I am used to. I don’t know if any of this was the reason. I just didn’t feel it). Recently I had the idea to turn one into a human figure study book and since then I have been filling it. I always say what you draw doesn’t matter as much as how you draw it, but you kind of need to feel motivated and captivated by the subject matter. Also, empty books are so scary. After you fill one page, the rest is much easier.

Do you guys do any kind of ritual to motivate yourself to begin tasks that may seem daunting? If I really can’t bring myself to start, I say “For Frodo”. I can’t use it too often, otherwise it would lose its effect.
