I'm from the USA and here there is an entire culture around serial killers, mass murderers in history, true crime, and exploitation of victims stories. It's very common to watch documentaries or listen to videos detailing tragic murders and there is even a community of people who make a lot of money by selling items previously owned by awful criminals and serial killers. It can get very disrespectful. Are there other countries that have a similar situation?
