I’m in my mid 20s and went on a date this past weekend. It went really well overall. He’s a great guy all around and at dinner he had very natural gentleman energy. Opened doors, was attentive, all of that.
When he dropped me off, I live alone in a newer luxury apartment building in a major city. He didn’t come inside, just pulled up to the front of the driveway. But as we got closer and he realized where I lived, I could literally feel his demeanor shift in real time. His energy changed. He seemed more reserved, almost stunned.
And what bothered me is that he didn’t get out to open the door like he did earlier. It’s not really about the door itself. It’s that the consistency dropped.
For context, throughout my life when I lived with family, I sometimes felt judged about my living situation. Now that I live on my own in a nicer place, I’ve noticed some men either make comments about money or subtly act different.
Would you read that as a red flag?
