I’m fully aware this question is gonna get me trolled 😭
Im not from the UK, and somehow Horrid Henry (in the local language dubbing of the show in my country it is also called 'bas karo henry') shaped my entire mental image of suburban England.
I know it’s literally just a children’s cartoon, but is there a place in the uk that looks like that exactly ?
I think part of why I’m asking is because I was weirdly fascinated by that kind of setting as a kid.
From the outside it looked so different from where I grew up, so it kind of stuck in my head as “this is what Britain is like.” Which I know is probably wildly inaccurate.
Edit: I know it says it’s based on Ashton (Ashton-under-Lyne), but when I watch videos of the real place it doesn’t really feel like the cartoon vibe in my head. So I’m wondering if that feeling exists anywhere, or if it’s just the show exaggerating things. The real town seems more grounded and normal, whereas the show’s version feels like this very specific, almost exaggerated suburban bubble.
