Got kicked off a talent gig because I was dragging my heels on responding to their emails. It's a little embarrassing but also kind of a relief because it obviously wasn't very important to me.
But it highlighted a recurring problem I have, which is that I'm reluctant to commit to scheduling things too far in advance. I don't like emails, phone calls are even worse, and for some reason I have this mindset where I have to sit down and focus on scheduling at my computer rather than just firing off an email from my phone wherever I happen to be. It is not uncommon for people to have to follow-up to get me to respond, which I know is super annoying.
Is this something you've experienced? How did you develop a more consistent work ethic?
