When my grandfather was born it was at home no doctor. Great grandma gave birth and went back out to feed animals and it was only when the doctor came through town that they got checked out. Nobody even knew the exact day he was born. That was 3 generations ago and in an area that things like that stayed archaic for much longer. Is something like that even possible in the US now days?
