I saw zootopia 2, and apparently, Shakira worked on the franchise again.
Has anyone seen the AI comments on moltbook (reddit but for bots)? Some of those look kind of disturbing like overthrowing humanity.
I am not a big winter sports person but I do love figure skating. So far my favorite routine in the Olympics is [Riku Miura and Ryuichi Kihara’s figure skating routine](https://youtu.be/gR09iNvnHxU?si=yG-hFgeaUsGo8WLi). This is the best pairs performance I have seen since… ever. Italy did great in the team event as well. Looking forward to the rest. Yesterday I watched the ice dance qualifications. The theme was 90s and I heard more Ricky Martin and Eurodance than is good for me lmao. But the costumes were so fun. I think the French couple will win gold.
I had to feed my sourdough after holidays but I didn’t need bread, so I made sea salt and rosemary crackers with the discard. It turns out that crackers are just thinly rolled bread. They’re were good but you kind of just nom nom nom them and half are gone before you even put them in the tin.
Last night I was walking out of a grocery store at around 22:00, and as I was exiting a man pulled up to the parking lot with a pick-up truck. He got out of his car and walked in past me, nothing special there. Then I noticed he left his truck running.
That kind of shit annoys me so much. I get it if it’s like -40°C and your coolant might freeze otherwise, and it gets difficult for the battery and starter motor when it’s really cold, might not be possible to even re-start your car. Okay. But last night it was -7°C. That’s absolutely nothing considering the weather we’ve had the last month. That’s almost a tropical temperature.
So the only reason to leave your car on is because you’re want to keep the cab warm, since you’re such a baby you can’t take the minute of mild uncomfortability as you get back to your now slightly colder car. You put your comfort above everything. The slightest comfort. It’s not even an inconvenience, it’s just fucking life up here. Turn your car off if you’re not in it, please.
Even if you’re one of those idiots who think climate change is a hoax, you could still at least think of other people who do get anxious about it and turn it off for their sake. As a nice gesture to them, if not for the climate. And sure, this one guy letting his big ass truck idle for 5 minutes as he is in the grocery store isn’t going to kill us all. But it’s the gesture to others that matters, if nothing else.
I used to have a co-worker who was one of these people who are just a bit inconsiderate and seemingly incapable of thinking beyond their own comfort and convenience. He drove a Porsche SUV with a big V8, and I remember one time he came to the office with a story. He explained that after leaving for work he stopped at a café to get a coffee. Parked his car in front of it, left it on to “let it warm up”, went in, got his coffee, and walked out. Then a person confronted him and said it’s not really cool to leave your car on like that. Which got to him, and he was annoyed about this confrontation as he got to the office.
Thing is, this café was literally a block away from his apartment. He could have walked there, got his coffee, walked back to his place and then driven to work, all the while his car would have been warming up at home via the block heater powered by the glorious nuclear reactors we have so wisely built in Finland. Or, he could have just driven straight to work and used the two different coffee machines we had at the office to get his coffee.
Ugh, shit like that is just annoying. It’s always the guys who drive big cars with big engines too. And don’t even get me started on littering.
