Hello again reddit,
I posted on this subreddit once before about my current relationship and got some solid advice. One person suggested for me to keep coming here when things get rough and as you can see in the title, things are getting rough.
I won’t make you go back and read my previous post because I still don’t understand how to post properly and it’s probably poorly formatted as I’m on mobile and cheated in every English class, so I’ll briefly explain… For the last two and a half years, I’ve put up with very subtle disrespectful behavior from my first and only boyfriend, but it was never big enough for me to feel the need to say anything about it. I’ll have you know that in the last few months I’ve gotten really good about standing up for myself, but I didn’t even know what to do tonight when he admitted to supporting ICE during the NFL halftime show.
He was getting worked up over the whole performance being in Spanish and when I pointed out it was to protest ICE he said that doing so at a football game was pointless because “Most people that watch football are Republicans/right leaning.” I responded “I think most of America is against what ICE is doing, regardless of their political affiliation.” he simply responded “I’m not.”
So Reddit, please give me your advice. Where do I go from here? Can someone please walk me through how to get out of this? We have a lease until September and I don’t know where to go from here.
