Fun fact about me, I have a last name that’s strongly associated with a particular ethnicity that I am not a member of. It doesn’t typically come up in everyday life, but when it does, it’s a very strange feeling to be subject to ethnic profiling for an ethnicity that’s not even yours. My dad used to get mail from an ethnic affinity group that he never signed up for, so apparently there’s someone who has a list of people with typical insert-ethnicity-here last names out there, and I can only imagine where they get the information.
Finland is the only European country in the Lonely Planet ‘Destinations to visit in 2026’.
Sardinia makes it in as a region, and Cadiz, Utrecht and Tipperary as cities.
I made a batch of pierogi with a friend yesterday. It’s been ages since I tried making them, so the taste wasn’t quite what I hoped, but they are still fine
Do people have to engage in panic buying every time there’s a hint of snow? This is the second time I’ve seen the fruits and breads section mostly sold out. Meat is less affected and some categories of milk are gone. I guess there is actually a bit of snow this time compared to last week.
