Do you have like ride-or-die friends? All of my wife's brothers have either no friends, or kind of cursory/fringe friends. As in, they hang out with them and are friendly but they aren't super super close. I see a lot of guys my age (33) that don't seem to have those ride or die friends. I've been super fortunate that I have a group of 4 dudes that are my absolute best friends. Our group chat is constantly popping off (after I put some work in to get them invested in the group chat) and I truly feel like I can talk to them about anything. We're all dads so we talk about some of the serious stuff associated with fatherhood, friends have had health issues or we've seen the deaths of friends outside of the circle. In general it feels like there is nothing off limits to talk to these guys about. We tell each other "love ya" when we see each other and in general we are super close.
It has a huge impact on my mental health, because I know there are some guys I can lean on and talk to. I'm wondering how common it is for guys in their 30s to have those super-close friends. I feel super lucky to have guys like this in my life.
