I have two specific people in mind here. In person, they are really kind and seem very genuine. When inviting them to do things, they'll be like "yessss" and "that sounds fun, I'm in!" or "I want to do that with you!" But then… they don't show up and don't say anything to me about it.
Like, one of these friends, I put in our group chat that there was this Halloween party, and they and another friend said they wanted to come. But then at the actual party, they just didn't show up and didn't tell me they weren't coming. The friend who did show up was like, "oh yeah, I saw so-and-so today, they said they probably weren't going to go." Which is fine, and I totally get changing your mind about things. But I was kind of hurt that this friend didn't tell me they changed their mind, they just told the friend who did come.
Or in a different group chat, we were making plans to go to a brewery, and one of the friends there seemed excited about it, like their response was: "um yes!!!" But then, again, they decided against going but didn't tell me. I only figured out that they weren't coming when the other person in the group chat messaged me individually to chat outfits. Again, it's really not problem that they changed their mind… but again, I'm just hurt that they told our other friend they weren't coming and not me too.
Maybe I'm reading too much into this and being hurt by something I shouldn't be hurt by. Idk. I guess I'm just confused and wondering if they have some problem with me they aren't telling me? Or maybe it's a non-issue. Idk.
