I've [30F] just started seeing a guy and I've noticed a bit of a pattern with him. He seems very visibly excited about me, but he practices a lot of restraint: physically, verbally, emotionally. He'll say less than it seems like he wants to and give subtle cues for physical contact without actually touching me, unless I touch him first. Sometimes when we're texting he'll spend like a full minute typing just to reply with something simple like "Okay cool, sounds great." I think it's so cute lol
I'm really used to guys who lean in heavy pretty early, so it's new for me to deal with a guy who's being so careful in our dynamic. It's also perfect because I want to take it slow this time. (Unsurprisingly, the past guys who were all-in early turned out to be \drumroll** intensely codependent!)
But I'm curious to hear from guys who practice restraint when they're seeing a woman they like. What are you typically thinking?
