After a great first date, we texted nonstop for a week. Then she vanished.
Three days of silence had me replaying every message like a crime scene.
Instead of sending “hey??”, I sent one honest line:
“I really enjoyed meeting you. If you’re not feeling it anymore, that’s okay—I just wanted to be real.”
She replied a few hours later. Her mom was in the hospital. She thanked me for being kind instead of angry.
It didn’t turn into a forever relationship. But it changed how I date.
So I’m wondering:
Is protecting your ego really better than giving honesty a chance?
