People who set off fireworks at 6pm on New Year’s Eve. What’s the deal with that?
December 31, 2025
Just a practice run to make sure they're definitely gonna wake up next doors dog?

Maybe for the kids (if they have any) to experience the occasion without staying up.
Trick the kids into going to bed 😂
So the kids can enjoy the occasion before bed.
Wait til you live somewhere they get set off throughout the year on a regular basis (like multiple times per week)
Children, young ones are in bed 7-8pm.
Safety. You want to use the fireworks before you start drinking!
Well im normally in bed for 8.30pm
Oh I haven’t heard any yet. But try being here in Wembley during Diwali. It’s hell on earth.
They like fireworks but want an early night.
Earlier the better. I like getting up new years Day, not staying up new years eve.
They were letting em off in broad daylight 2-3pm near me…beggar belief how some peoples thought process works.
Could have kids? Might have work early? Might work a night shift? Want to celebrate when they can?Â
Someone’s doing this where I live and it’s so dumb lol.
Our neighbours set them off when their home / birth country turns midnight. We have Indian, Romanian, and Eastern European neighbours, so they go off every few hours until 1am.
I was watching cricket in Australia one year and they paused the game early as they have a full on 8pm or so fireworks display for kids
Idiots
I was wondering that too. People were setting them off at like half 4??? 😆🙈
Saves waking people up at midnight
Displays for families with younger kids probably. Letting them stay up and you are looking at a 1am bedtime, that’s going to be hard for some kids to deal with.
It makes me feel like a big man
If you do it at midnight you have to stay up til midnight
Heard the first one this afternoon at 4.30.
Before the kids go to kip and next door dont have a dog. Fear not i have kept 4 rockets for midnight.
Bro are you my neighbour or something? They just started setting them off around the time you posted!
Have to imagine it’s for kids who will be asleep long before midnight, don’t have an issue with it myself. What does bother me is the folks who have been setting off fireworks for the past 3 nights as if most of October and November weren’t enough
So the kids can join in, so you don’t wake everyone up at midnight, plan on getting too pissed to operate explosives later on?
Main character syndrome. About time the noisy ones were either banned or at the very least confined to organised events
People who set off fireworks at 2am on New Year’s Day, what’s the deal with that?
They are all great explanations. Why yesterday did someone buy a ten pack of rockets to let one off every fifteen minutes. OK kids its time for another firework. BANG. Back inside for another episode of peppa.
Chantelle and Kyle in their new house with Live Love Laugh on the wall and a Range Rover on lease.
Everybody saying it’s for the kids before they go to bed… Did nobody else just get to stay up to see the new year in with a wee dram of whisky when they were a kid?
Stupidity
People say it’s because the kids can experience New Years then go to bed
Do the kids not get woken up at midnight anyway, when other people set them off?
i walked the dog at 6 to avoid the fireworks and then they started going off like mad at 6:30 :/
poor dog was scared shitless (literally)
she is now safe inside in her pjs and doesn’t care for the fireworks
twats basically…..
It’s the UK where people can’t do anything properly. Bonfire night lasts a week, Halloween is an American mess, setting off fireworks to celebrate the new year hours before the actual time.
We had folk nearby setting them off at 3.30 pm. People who set off fireworks in broad daylight need to be studied.
