My previous relationship lasted 11 years and I finally hopped on the dating apps to see what’s out there. I came across a couple acquaintances that I’ve crushed on in the past.
The first one, I had met before my ex and I met but she was dating one of my friends at the time. We followed each other on social media and she would comment on my stories every so often. Most recently 1-2 years ago. She still watches them pretty regularly.
The second, I met at school ~9 years ago. We worked on a capstone project together for little over a year, and we ended up at the same company ~5 years ago. We were in different departments so we didn’t talk much while I was there. They aren’t on social media but I still have their number from when we worked on the project at school.
I used paid “likes” for both but after talking with some friends who are single women on the apps, that’s no guarantee that they see it.
The question is, would I be making a big mistake asking either of them out via dm’s/text?
